International Graduate Programs

International Graduate Program (A)

The International Graduate Program (A) offers an Integrated Doctoral Education Program, designed to combine the Master’s Program and the Doctoral Program so that graduate students can obtain both degrees.

There is no Japanese language requirement for this program as lectures and seminars are held in English. However, students are given opportunities to attend Japanese language classes on a regular basis in order to better adapt to daily life in Japan.

A limited number of students with outstanding academic records are eligible to apply for a scholarship from Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT scholarship) with a recommendation from Tokyo Tech.

Okada laboratory joins Cyber-Physical System for Smart Society (CPSSS) program. Firstly, you have to pass preliminary application in case of IGP(A). Please see CPSSS web site for studying about how to apply.

International Graduate Program (C)

The International Graduate Program (C) offers the Master’s and Doctoral Programs. After the Master’s program, you can continuously join the Doctral program if you can be approved.

There are two chances of the enrollment in a year (Spring, April; Fall, September) *.

In general, no Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship is expected, but you can apply scholarships after coming to Japan.

Note: Tokyo Tech provides domestic application (not International Graduate Program) on Augest, but please do not choose this. If you fail this application, you will lose your chance for applying to IGP programs ever. I’d strongly recommend you to directly apply to IGP(A) or IGP(C).

Exemption from English proficiency test score submission

Please carefully read Application Guide for IGP(C), and send me the required documents.

Native English speakers
Individuals who have been awarded an undergraduate and/or graduate degree from an institution where all instruction was in English

MEXT Scholarship

Okada laboratory widely accepts application for MEXT Schorlarship through Embassy recommendation. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

MEXT scholarship through University recommendation, except for IGP(A), is not accepted presently.

For post-doctoral researchers

It is very limited but Okada laboratory accepts new post-doctoral researchers. If you have a strong research background that matches Okada laboratory’s research projects, please contact me.

JSPS also offers Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan.

For visiting students/researchers

Presently, Okada laboratory does not actively accept short-term visiting students and researchers. Only programs funded by the Japanese government such as AOTULE, YSEP, ACAP, etc, are considered.
